Question:
I am planning on using a foil stamping machine to create certificate awards that will be handed out at a science fair. I would normally have this done at a local shop, but would like to get something we can use year after year. Would your Model 45 foil stamper work?
Answer:
You could use the Model 45 foil stamper to stamp names onto award certificates, but we may have a better recommendation for you. For the possible high volume that you will be dealing with, and if you need only to produce certificates, you may want to consider using a foil fuser.
What’s the difference? A foil stamping machine uses heated dies to stamp text or a logos onto an object. These are ideal for book covers, bibles, photographs, fancy napkins and more. A foil fusing machine lets you custom design a certificate on a computer, print it out and then cover it with foil.
Foil fusers use a special type of foil that adheres to toner used in copy machines and printers. Foil fusers are relatively simple to set up and operate, and can easily foil fuse several certificates in a minute. The end result looks just like a foil-stamped document.
If you don’t want foil on everything on the certificate, simply print out what you need foil fused and run it through the foil fuser. You can then run the certificates through the printer a second time to print everything else.
