From time to time, we are asked about the differences between the MBM Sprint 3000 and 5000 model bookletmakers. The machines look nearly identical, yet there are some key differences. The model Sprint 5000 Booklet Maker is a high-production, professional-grade bookletmaking machine. It uses a staple cartridge system, with each cartridge holding up to
5,000 staples to ensure long-running jobs.
This type of system, however does not allow the staples to penetrate as deep as its sibling, the model Sprint 3000 bookletmaker. The model 5000 will fold and staple up to 22 sheets of 20 lb. bond. You can also use the model 5000 to work in tandem with several collator systems. And, the 5000 will perform a corner staple (if desired) where the model 3000 will not.
The Sprint 3000 is a professional-grade machine as well. Its staple heads hold only 200 staples at a time. However, its staples will penetrate deeper than the model 5000. This machine is capable of folding and stapling up to 25 sheets of 20 lb. bond.

Question:
Good Morning,
We are trying to find round 2 inch black binding combs. The majority of the companies we have contacted so far carry the 2 inch combs but they are oval. We inevitably have to return them. Do you carry round 2 inch combs? If you do, please contact me.
Kindest Regards,
Shannon C.
Answer:
There are many advantages to comb binding. One popular feature is the fact that you can bind a relatively large document with a comb binding machine. Comb binding elements are also less expensive and easy to use when compared to other binding methods.
Comb binding strips are even friendly to the environment, so to speak, since the plastic comb may be re-used over and over. They may be easily re-opened for adding or removing pages in a document. Comb-bound books also lay flat on a table, making the reading experience much more user-friendly.
Large diameter binding combs are not available in the shape of a circle. They must be formed as an oval to accommodate the turning of pages in a large stack of paper. A two-inch round comb simply does not work.

Question:
I was looking at your card-it business card cutter on your website. Can you tell me if it cuts to a specific card size or is adjustable? Also, can you give me some idea of where you’re located, how you ship, and estimated transit time? Thanks!
Erin S.
Answer:
The Card-It Slitter/Business Card Inserter is a unique, yet simple-to-use machine. The Card-It makes it convenient to insert a business card into just about any type of document imaginable. The unit essentially makes two
diagonal slits in the paper so that you can insert a regular-sized 3-1/2″ wide by 2″ high business card. This is a handy feature that lets you include your business card in sales proposals, folders, reports, booklets, etc.
Unfortunately, the machine is not adjustable for different sized cards. Office Zone is located in Utah, about 20 miles north of Salt Lake City. We ship the Card-It via UPS or Fe-Ex from our warehouse. It typically arrives within three to five business days, depending on your location in the U.S.

Question:
Hi, I’m designing a brochure for client and I need an adjustable paper punch that will go thru about 20-40 sheets of paper. I need to have a margin depth of about 1 inch – tho I’m flexible and ideally would like a bit deeper extension (1″ to 2″) into the page I’d like the guides to lock and help the documents into place (not a single hole hand held punch.)
I’m looking at the: Master 1325B, 1325PB, and 1340PB Customizable Paper Punch by Martin Yale. And I’m wondering if this might work? Can you help me understand the flexibility of the depth of the margins guides ability? Or can you recommend another product?
Thanks so much for your time!
David M.
Answer:
If you indeed need to punch up to 40 sheets of paper at a time, then I highly recommend that you invest in a paper drill. A paper drill quickly and easily punches through 40 sheets of paper. If punching 20 sheets at
once will do, then the Martin Yale Master series hole punch will suffice. You can adjust this particular model to punch from two to seven holes at a time.
You can also adjust the machine to achieve the punching depth you desire. The Master series paper punch is relatively easy to set up and operate. Its long power handle provides extra leverage to easily punch several papers (rated up to 35 sheets).

Question:
Can your $5000 folder/inserter fold and insert multiple page documents? It has two trays – are these just for faster paper loading or so that you can
fold/insert 2-page documents. If this one doesn’t, what is your lowest price for one that does? Thanks!
Pat S.
Answer:
If I completely understand your question — yes, the Formax FD 6100 paper folder and inserter can insert multiple pages into an envelope. The FD 6100 will facilitate a two-page document and is the lowest price folder/inserter that we offer. However, it’s still a relatively affordably priced machine. It lets even smaller-sized businesses and organizations realize the benefits of an automated folder/inserter.

Question:
The laminating film rolled around the roller bars and we can’t get the glue off of them. What do you suggest?
Kathy P.
Answer:
Unfortunately, having glue on your laminator rolls is a serious problem. The glue is extremely difficult to remove. However, with a significant investment of time and effort, your laminator rollers can be repaired. First, turn your laminator on. Set it to a low temperature so that you can warm
up the glue, but not burn it.
Then, take a soft cloth and wipe off as much glue as possible. You can use water during the cleaning process, but don’t use rubbing alcohol. Alcohol will dry out and crack the rubber rollers. We recommend roller cleaner rejuvenator to aid in the cleaning process. You may find a laminator cleaning kit helpful as well. Just a word of caution here, do not use any sharp objects. A pair of scissors, razor blade, or knife will permanently damage the rollers.
When you’re done, will likely notice that your laminator rollers are discolored, or faded. But not to worry. Your laminator should still perform without any significant drop off in performance.

Question:
Good afternoon,
I have a question regarding one of your products. Does the Akiles DuoMac-C41 have an electric coil inserter like the Akiles CoilMac-ECI?
Thank you,
Jason D.
Answer:
No, the Akiles DuoMac-C41 does not come with an electric coil inserter. However, we do offer a good selection of stand-alone spiral/coil inserting machines that you can use in conjunction with this machine.
The DuoMac-C41 binding machine was designed to provide a convenient
binding solution for those who want to punch and bind documents with either plastic combs or coil. This model will facilitate both 4:1 and 5:1 pitch coil binding.
If you intend to stick exclusively to 4:1 coil binding, then the CoilMac-ECI model is definitely the way to go. It’s user-friendly and quite efficient at punching and binding documents in a short amount of time.

Question:
Hi, We are looking to buy the Akiles Roll@Blade 3615 36″ Rotary Paper Trimmer. I have 2 questions:
Q1. Is the cutting width a flush 36″ or is it just a bit more like 36″1/4 ? In other words, can we easily cut a 36″ wide paper or will we miss something like 1/16″ ?
Q2. Can this tool cut heavy inkjet canvas like 440 gsm [grams per square meter]?
Thank you in advance,
Francois G.
Answer:
The Akiles Roll-@-Blade 3615 36″ rotary cutter does feature extra cutting space so that you can perform a cut exactly 36 inches in length. The model 3615 is a high-precision trimmer with two sliding poles that give the unit
exceptional stability and cutting accuracy. It also has a convenient transparent clamping bar for even more stability and visibility while trimming.
The Roll-@-Blade 3615 was constructed with an extra-large work area, measuring 15 inches wide, with a printed grid in both metric and standard rule for easy alignment of all cutting material. The 3615 is rated by the manufacturer to cut a wide variety of thick materials including 440 gsm inkjet canvas.

Question:
I am interested in information regarding spiral binding machines that can handle 2 inches worth of paper. Can you please send me information regarding different brands?
Michelle R.
Answer:
Two inches of 20-lb. bond paper equals 500 sheets. The largest amount of
paper that any spiral or coil binding machine can punch and bind is about half that size: 230 sheets. Keep in mind that most manual coil binding machines will punch no more than 20 sheets of paper at a time. The binding coils are available in diameters of up to 1-1/4 inches (which hold up to 230 sheets). We unfortunately do not carry a binding machine that can bind up to two inches in thickness.

Question:
I have a Premier Rapid fold P7200 that was in my office when I took over this position. I am in need of an instruction manual on how to use it as there are none here.
Trisha
Answer:
We do offer user (or instruction) manuals for most office machines. All you have to do is contact our service technician to receive a free PDF manual via e-mail.
The Martin Yale Rapidfold is a relatively easy machine to set up, and it delivers quality results in minutes. The Rapidfold P7200 is a great choice for most low-volume paper folding needs. This is a very compact paper folding machine, and it features a uniquely designed catch tray that makes this unit easy to transport around the office.
The Rapidfold can produce several popular types of letter folds. The Rapidfold is best used in low-production environments including small home office, a church office or schools.
