“The Hole Puncher Isn’t Working! This Is Not A Drill, People!”–Not An Office Zone Paper Drill, Anyway

FMMS-3 Drill

You would never hear a dentist say, “Now I’m going to punch a hole in your tooth (unless you really don’t get along with your dentist),” or an oil rig roughneck claim he found the perfect spot for deep core punching. So why, then, do we still punch holes in paper when drills are available? Much more compact than oil drills and not nearly as intimidating as the ones dentists use, paper drills are also immeasurably more efficient than three-hole punchers. Perhaps some people find the circular debris from the hole punchers to be decorative, but for everyone else, most paper drills catch all the scraps for easy disposal. Some of the larger machines can evenly penetrate two and a half inches of standard paper with little effort on the part of the operator. I suppose it’s possible to get the same results with a three-hole puncher if one person holds it sturdily on the ground while another person jumps on it, but for ankles’ sake, a paper drill with a foot pedal to trigger the motor is much more practical.

Paper Folder/Sealers, Instead of Account Holder Stealers.

Posted by: admin on April 14th, 2008

Certain documents, most notably government checks, require folding and tearing the ends to open them. These documents, that are also their own envelopes, are called “mailers.” As much as it may seem like whoever issued the check is just hoping to frustrate you into not cashing it, they are actually just protecting you. Documents like paychecks contain private financial information that can be used to steal your identity, even if the culprit can’t cash the check (which he/she can’t, unless the bank teller is a runaway circus monkey). When a document is also a sealed envelope, the recipient can be assured that it has not been tampered with. Every business should have one the machines that seals mailers. They’re called folder/sealers and they are not complicated. Some of them work in correlation with select printers so that the mailers never touch anyone’s hands until they’ve been sealed. Folder/sealers only work with paper that has the pressure sensitive adhesive strips intended for mailers, but buying specialty paper is a lot less expensive than an identity theft-liability lawsuit. Plus, they’re just convenient because anyone can use them… even if all of your employees are runaway circus monkeys.

Office Zone Laminating Machines–Don’t Gamble, Cover Your Spreads

Posted by: admin on April 3rd, 2008

Every document or photograph looks better laminated. Proposal, presentations, manuals, memos, and certificates all carry a greater appearance of prestige when they have a plastic covering. Pages that are individually laminated demand the viewer’s attention. “If they’re protected, they must be important,” the recipient assumes. Every office should have a laminator. It doesn’t matter how professional the resulting document or documents look. If you have to send an intern around the corner to the copy store before you get them, all professionalism is lost. Office Zone has a laminating machine to fit the needs of any home or business.
Why does laminating something make such a difference? I think it’s because when we were kids, we all had something that if we kept in “mint condition” by laminating it, would be “worth a lot of money someday.” I’m still waiting for my signed Milli Vanilli trading card to skyrocket in value. I might be waiting a long time, but the lamination did its job.
